19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This marks his maiden trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from March of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
He saved 4 initial break points in a close final set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after a lengthy match.
